EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy in St. Louis & Wentzville, MO
Different Methods. One Goal.
A PERSONALIZED APPROACH
Therapy Isn’t One-Size-Fits-All
You may not need the same approach at every stage of therapy.
Sometimes the work is about processing a memory. Sometimes it’s about helping your body feel safer. Sometimes it’s about understanding the parts of you that learned to protect, perform, or stay in control.
That’s why Cristina may use one method or a combination of approaches depending on what you need.

Mind
Work with thoughts, beliefs, and memories.

Body
Notice and regulate nervous-system responses.

Integration
Bring insight and change into everyday life.

The Methods We Use
EMDR Therapy
EMDR can help when an experience is over, but your mind or body still reacts as if it is happening now.
It helps the brain reprocess memories, emotions, and beliefs so they feel less intense and less controlling in the present.
Somatic Experiencing
Sometimes stress and trauma show up in the body before you even realize what you’re feeling.
Sometimes stress and trauma show up in the body before you even realize what you’re feeling. Somatic Experiencing helps you notice those signals, slow things down, and build a greater sense of safety and regulation.
Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy
KAP combines psychotherapy with ketamine treatment in a supported, intentional setting.
For some clients, ketamine can help soften defenses, create emotional access, and make it easier to explore experiences or patterns that feel difficult to reach through talk therapy alone.
Internal Family Systems
IFS is based on the idea that we all have different “parts” of ourselves.
Some parts may push you to achieve. Others may avoid, shut down, overthink, or protect you from getting hurt.
Instead of fighting those parts, IFS helps you understand what they are trying to do for you.
INTEGRATED CARE
You Don’t Have to Pick Just One
Therapy does not need to fit neatly into one method.
Cristina may combine approaches depending on what is coming up for you.
-
EMDR
May help process the memory. -
Somatic Experiencing
May help regulate what happens in your body. -
IFS
May help understand the protective parts that show up. -
KAP
May support deeper access and integration when appropriate.
HOW I WORK
Less Managing. More Understanding.
All four approaches are designed to help you move beyond simply coping with symptoms.
The goal is to understand what is happening underneath them and create more choice in how you respond.
More awareness
Notice patterns earlier.
More regulation
Feel less controlled by stress responses.
More self-trust
Respond from clarity instead of fear.
