Therapy For High-Performing Professionals In St. Louis & Wentzville
Trust feels complicated. Closeness can feel like risk. Conflict sends you into managing mode, and somewhere underneath it all lives a fear of being left. Boundaries are hard to set and harder to keep, the same relationship patterns keep repeating, and you've learned not to trust your own feelings.

Relief isn’t a distant reward waiting at the end. It’s part of how your body will let you know we’re on the right path in the first signs of something in you beginning to settle, and then to blossom.

Therapy That's Relatable, and Empowering
The people who find their way to me don’t usually look like they need help. They’re competent. Regarded. Frequently the one others lean on. What brings them here isn’t collapse it’s the realization that the way they’ve been managing has stopped working, and that no amount of additional effort is going to fix it. The presenting issue varies. A past that hijacks the present. A relationship or a discovery that split your life into before and after. An anxiety that no longer responds to discipline. A career you built that’s now consuming you. Underneath all of these is the same mechanism: a nervous system running a protective strategy that outlived its usefulness. That’s what the work addresses, regardless of which door you came through.
You were raised to manage someone else’s feelings, and you’ve been doing it ever since.
You grew up as the steady one, the easy one, the one who read the room before speaking a word, and you’ve never quite stopped. That skill protected you. It also taught your body that rest is risky, your needs are too much and boundaries are dangerous. In your upbringing you were trained to over function, overdeliver, and override your own needs, while pretending you’re fine. If you had the courage to speak up, they called you dramatic or too sensitive. Instead of listening, they made you feel guilty, ashamed, and even more confused. You felt invisible, like you didn’t matter. You’re still questioning who to trust and struggling to trust yourself. Therapy gives you a space where you can untangle the voices you were raised with from your own, rebuild trust in what you know and feel, and reclaim the self you had to hide to stay safe.

YOU ARE IN A ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP YOU KNOW IS TOXIC BUT FEELS HARD TO LEAVE
You might not call it “toxic,” but lately you’ve been wondering whether things are as okay as you keep telling yourself. You’ve been told that no one else would put up with you or ever truly love you, and a part of you has slowly started to believe it. The same disagreements keep coming back, going around in circles without resolution, until you begin to wonder whether you’re the problem after all. And still, the thought of leaving someone you love feels impossible. Together, we’ll gently untangle these mixed-up feelings so you can see what’s really happening, recognize the choices in front of you, and begin reclaiming your sense of self.
For the founder, executive, entrepreneur, physician, and professional who holds everything together. You lead under pressure, make high-stakes decisions, and carry the weight when others can’t. Somewhere along the way, your system learned to push through fatigue, set feelings aside, and stay focused no matter what was happening around you. That wasn’t a failing. It was a wise adaptation, and it has helped you build something remarkable. But a body that’s always braced will eventually start asking to be heard. It may show up as irritability, anxiety, panic, or a heaviness you can’t shake. It may look like strain in your closest relationships because you never get to switch off, a slow fading of the purpose that once lit you up or coping habits that numb more than they nourish. You may feel alone with all of it, as if you can’t show any crack, and as if no one could truly understand the weight of your days. Here’s the truth your nervous system may be longing to hear: even the strongest, most capable people need support, and you most of all. Together we will make space for the parts of you that have been holding everything together, help your body learn it’s safe to set the weight down, and reconnect you with the steady, whole Self underneath the role. Then you can lead, love, and live from a place of ease instead of endless effort.
HOW I WORK
Clients come to me to heal the root of their struggles, release the past, improve the present and trust their own voice again.
EMDR
Helps reprocess memories and beliefs that still feel active in the present.
Somatic Therapy
Helps you notice and respond to stress, exhaustion, anger, and need in real time.
Internal Family Systems
Helps you understand the protective parts of yourself without trying to get rid of them.
WHEN YOU’RE READY
You do not need to know exactly what kind of therapy you need or how to explain everything perfectly. A consultation is simply a place to talk about what has been going on and see whether working together feels right.
WHEN YOU’RE READY
You might be surprised how many people start our first conversation with those exact words. Often they come from someone who learned early to downplay their own pain so everyone else could stay comfortable.
Painful patterns don't need one big, dramatic event to take root. They can grow quietly over years: always earning love, always staying on guard, always making yourself smaller. If part of you is tired of carrying it, that's reason enough. You don't have to prove you're suffering "enough" to deserve care.
The anxiety, the over-functioning, the trouble resting: they can feel like your personality. More often, they're your nervous system's intelligent response to a world that asked you to hold too much for too long. Those responses kept you safe once. Therapy isn't about fixing you or changing who you are. It's about giving your body enough safety to let go of what it no longer needs, so the real you has room to come back.
No. You don't have to call it trauma, codependency, or burnout to deserve deep support. Many of my clients have never had words for what they feel. Some carry diagnoses that never quite fit. In our work you'll be understood, not analyzed or labeled. We'll start with what you're living through and what you want your life to feel like.
It's very common to feel guilt, protectiveness, or confusion about this, especially if you grew up as the steady one or the easy one who read the room before saying a word. Talking about how your upbringing affected you isn't about blaming anyone. It's about pulling apart the voices you were raised with from your own, so you can trust what you know and feel again. You can love someone and still heal from how they hurt you.
Yes. You don't have to be certain, and you don't have to have made any decision. If the same arguments keep circling, if you've started wondering whether you're the problem, or if leaving feels impossible even when staying hurts, therapy is a calm, judgment-free place to sort out those tangled feelings. I won't tell you what to do. We'll work on helping you see clearly, recognize your choices, and reconnect with your sense of self.
Yes. I work with founders, executives, physicians, entrepreneurs, and other professionals who hold everything together. Your ability to push through and stay focused under pressure helped you build something remarkable. But a body that's always braced eventually asks to be heard. It can show up as irritability, panic, numbness, strain in your relationships, or a quiet loss of purpose. Here you don't have to perform or be the strong one. Discretion, flexibility, and respect for your time are built into how I work.
Many of my clients have been to therapy before. It helped with insight, but something still felt stuck. Understanding why you do something doesn't always change how your body reacts. My approach is somatic and relational. Alongside talking, we pay gentle attention to what your nervous system is holding, so change happens at a deeper level than coping skills alone.
My training includes [list your modalities, e.g., Somatic Experiencing, IFS, EMDR], and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with 13 years of experience focused on trauma, anxiety, burnout, codependency, people-pleasing, and complex relationship patterns. That specialization means you won't have to spend sessions explaining the basics of your experience.
Sessions are [50/75] minutes, [in person in (city) / virtually across (states)]. We go at your pace. Early on, the focus is on getting to know you, understanding what brought you here, and building a sense of safety between us. You're always in charge of what we explore and how deeply. Nothing is forced or rushed.
My fee is [$___] per session. I keep a smaller caseload on purpose, so each client gets my full presence, preparation, and attention. For many of my clients, the bigger question isn't the cost of therapy. It's the cost of another year feeling the way they feel now: another year of bracing, over-giving, or going through the motions. Working with the right person can mean less time spent starting over and more time actually healing.
I'm an out-of-network provider. On request, I can give you a superbill, a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Going out of network also means your care stays between us, with no diagnosis required by an insurance company and no outside limits on how we work.
That's exactly why I offer a free [15–20]-minute consultation. It's a relaxed conversation with no pressure and no commitment. You can tell me a little about what's going on, ask any questions, and notice how it feels to talk with me. Feeling safe with your therapist matters more than almost anything else, so trust your gut.
That's completely understandable, especially if asking for help has never felt safe. You don't need to know what to say or have it all figured out. A simple "I'm interested in learning more" is plenty. I'll take it from there.
